Assessment Process
Telephone consultation
A telephone call with parents/guardian's to discuss the concerns they have about their child's needs.

Screening Assessment
This is a short assessment that allows me to gain a better understanding of your child's speech, language and communication needs. A screening assessment can take approximately 60 minutes (depending on your child's age).
A brief report will be written following the assessment.
The assessment will cover the following areas:

Full Assessment
A full assessment is an in-depth assessment of your child's receptive and expressive language skills and their communication needs. Where appropriate I may contact your child's school/nursery to understand how your child's needs are impacting on their learning.
The assessment will consist of:

Parent/guardian questionnaire and discussion

Informal assessments, observation at school or nursery.

Standardised assessment procedures (where needed).

Liaison with other professional involved in your child's care.

Analysis of assessment results.

Detailed report including evaluation of assessment and recommendations for therapy plan. Any resources recommended to accompany follow up work at home would be charged for separately.
